Your alarm clock blinks large red numbers at you from it's place on your dresser. It's 9:27am on a summer day and practice starts at 9:40am. Having thirteen minutes to drive to the fifteen-minute-away Isabella's house wouldn't be a problem on it's own but you also have to get ready and wake up your older brother to drive you. Missing it would get you on Tara's bad side. Tara is Isabella's older sister and "agent" of your little band who really just controlled everything.
