No sense charging in to the spooky cabin with no idea what you're getting yourself into. You're as likely to get yourself killed as anything that way.
You hide in the woods, waiting to see what happens. At first, nothing does. And nothing continues to happen as you wonder if maybe you're wasting your time.
But then, the door opens. Stepping through it is truly a sight of terror. He's a large man, six feet at least and probably taller, dressed like a killer Lumberjack. You'd put good money on him being behind Bailey disappearing.
He closes the door behind him, and walks out into the woods. Fortunately, away from you.
Assuming he's the only freak out here, that should mean that you're free to go take a closer look.
