Middle Ages
The Serfs worked for the higher classes such as the, Merchants, Nobles, and Knights. They had no rights but were protected by the upper classes they worked for the land but not the lord, and had a easier life than peasants, consisting of food that they made (meat only in winter) the owner of the serfs were nothing without them, and because of that the serfs master would treat them to meat and other goods. A Peasant on the other hand was poor with barely any food and sometimes coming home without food and a job, but the peasants had rights and could vote not that the king would listen to them, it was often hard being a peasant because of the little to no protection, and no doctors so when the plague got around many people died seeing as doctors didn't know what to do or what was causing it.
