The Z Plague
It is approximately 1:30 pm. You stand in front of the whiteboard, trying, hopelessly, to get your students to pay attention. One kid at the back is zoned out. Another pair are "secretly" passing notes, probably thinking you haven't noticed. Another kid has given up trying to conceal his lack of interest, and has chosen to take selfies. You wonder yourself whether or not it's even worth it to keep coming to work every morning. A few of your students have just vanished without notice. Giving up, you decide to talk to the kids that are still paying attention about the ongoing "walking corpse" pandemic. Currently, some measures are being taken to prevent the spread of infection. Time flies as you explain to what remains of your class about the practice emergency drills that might be happening soon. Tiredly, you dismiss the class
