The Fire

A crack emerges in the supernatural wall. You are reenergized by this turn of events and vigorously resume chipping away at the ice. Slowly, the crack widens, exposing a weakness in the wall. A few more minutes of hacking later, you hear a loud crack and sense vibrations in the wall in front of you. You quickly jump backward and watch the wall intently. The vibrations intensify, and, before you know it, the entire wall collapses, with enormous chunks of ice sliding off, shattering upon impact with the ground and shooting out millions of shards into the darkness, generating tremors in every direction, and sending up giant clouds of powder. When the mist dissipates, the remains of the wall fade away, like it had never been there at all.

There is no longer anything in the way between you and the fire.

You gaze at it up close. The fire is about six feet tall and six feet wide. The magical fire burns by itself without a source of fuel. It is beautiful. The flames crackle, and warm your heart as much as they do your body. You feel as good as you have felt since you found yourself in this darkness.

The hot, burning heat is irresistible. The flames draw you closer and closer, until there is only one thing left for you to do. You walk into the blazing fire.
