The Heart of Russia

KA-Blam
The round is set free into the cold chilling air as it peirces through the snowfall.

The Russian commanding officer looked into the engine compartment of the truck facing away from the sniper team's position. Just when he did a round from Burnout's rifle made final destination in the Officer's head as it severed the brainstem causing the officer to fall lifelessly slumped over the front of the trucks large metal front end.

The soldier who was fixing on the truck jumped in shock and dove to the ground behind the otherside knelt down. He fired a burst of rounds but nowhere near the teams true location.

Silence creeped over the snowfall and filled the air, the sniper team accomplished pure invinsibility there location was unknown as only one shot would be needed for that location.

Burnout ejected the casing into his hand and shoved it back into his pocket. He hand motioned for Diamond to fall back 25 meters to regroup and move onward to the Russian Camp.

Both the Marines moved back and came together. "Damn burnout that was one hella shot up there. That piece of shit didn't even knew what hit him the last thought that went thru his mind was a 7.62."

"Ya was looking for something with a lil more range, 560 ain't shit, this damn M40 has a max efeective at 1000yrds. Thats what I want!"

"I'm sure you'll have your oppertunity so lets break out this map and see where to next."

The two man team broke out the map and noted that the truck was headed in direction of the camp, possibly returning. That meant the officers death would not be noted unless the driver of the truck reached the camp first. If they were the first near the camp that would give the sniper team the element of suprise. Diamond popped out his compass and nvigated out two path one to the Southeast and another to the Southwest. The southwest looked shorter but had not real cover of movement, the southeast was covered well with wooded area but the distance would take a longer time to travel.
