You talk to Rebecca about how best to manage Carol, what annoys her and what she likes, that sort of thing. You both recognise that there will be times when you both have something urgent for Carol to do, and she will only be able to do one of them there and then. You decide to cross that particular bridge when you come to it. (But you go away wondering whether there will be future problems).
It is now about 5:30 and any work you have in your in tray will wait for the next day. Its about time to be going home.
Jerry, an older solicitor who occasionally drives you home asks whether you would like a lift. Last time you were in his (very fancy) car, he drove over a kerb, which is a little worrying and he is currently yawning heavily. He is obviously exhausted.
