Relic
You’ve had enough of this ancient terror. If you’re going to die, you’re going to hit him in the face with something. What enters your field of vision first is the triangular relic. It is right in front of you and still vibrating. You dive toward it, grabbing at it. The relic at this point is difficult to hold because of the shaking.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” Shouts Lucas, his shock at your actions make you think this relic may still have some tricks left that Lucas didn’t want you to know about. You stand up and wind up for a throw.
“NO!” shouts Lucas, aiming his gun he fires multiple shots at you. You cringe and tighten up for the impact…but it never comes. Opening your eyes, you see Bailey had stepped in front of you to take the rounds. The bulky bald man sputters blood, his shotgun hitting the ground with a clank. He then keels over, dead.
You don’t have time to reflect on Bailey’s sacrifice, you chuck the relic into the eye of Zo’ileninaath. It absorbs into the eye, and begins to cause reverberations. The god starts to quiver, the squid tentacles and horse legs spinning and convulsing out of control. The god’s fiery iris turns blue, launching a ray of blue energy at you. You and Raoul are caught in the beam. You feel intense heat, then extreme cold…everything goes white and you feel as if you are flying…
