"Don't be too sure about that, princess," your father muses, "you don't always know what the Sorting Hat will choose. Now let's see, where's that confounded platform..."
"But Slytherin's the best! Clever and sharp!" you cry, appalled, "At least that's what Mother always said, and weren't you almost in Slytherin yourself?"
"Almost isn't is. I did have Slytherin friends, that's true, but I wouldn't put down the others just yet."
You don't want to listen to him anymore. You've heard your mother's stories about Slytherin ever since you were old enough to understand about going to Hogwarts. You know your mother wouldn't lie about something so important; why does your dad have to be so flip about this? You watch your father pacing back and forth, muttering. "I know it's right here, somewhere, dang, it's been too long..."
Come to think of it, you still don't know much about your father's experiences at Hogwarts. "Okay Dad, but which house were you in?"
