Necromancer

You attempt to concentrate, but as you do so another strange creature appears and smacks you in the face, knocking you to the ground. You don't even have time to recover before it begins to wrap one of its powerful tentacles around your head and squeezes until your skull cracks and your brains come leaking out.

Given what is in store for the world, you were lucky to be killed so quickly.
