Hall of Infinite Doors

The redwood door is smooth and looks recently varnished. There's a rough patch where a handle and lock might have been, but it looks to have been ripped off and painted over some time in the past. The brass numbers "829" are screwed onto the door, and it opens easily with a nudge of your hand.

Beyond is what looks to be a normal hotel room. The door opens into a short hallway with two other doors set on either side, and widens into a large bedroom/living room beyond. Thick curtains line the wall opposite you, framing a large, sliding glass window that opens onto a tall balcony and a beautiful view of a sunny, thickly treed, almost Caribbean-looking city. Three beds cluster against the wall, recently made up, and the television is on, showing some soccer match in Spanish. A suitcase is resting on one of the beds, and as you walk into the room you notice that you carry luggage as well: one rolling suitcase and one slim, businesslike valise. When you walk in, the door shuts behind you, and clicks loudly as if to lock. At the sound of your entrance you hear swearing in the door to your right and the sounds of someone fumbling around beyond there. Though it looks hot outside, the air conditioning makes it very pleasant in the room.
