Hall of Infinite Doors

You don't even make it to French class. While walking between classes, a pretty brown-haired girl bumps into you, spilling all of her books. You instinctively kneel to pick them and see that you are staring at a nice tanned pair of jugs. As she is there on her knees in a short black dress picking up books a couple other guys stop to stare. The dress itself doesn't have much cleavage, but in that position you have a full view.

She gets up. "I'm sooo sorry," she says to you, "I'm such a klutz!" She then sits on a bench, places her books beside her and leans forward to dust off her knees and high heeled shoes, showing you that rack once more.

You are enraptured.

"Do you need help?" you ask.

"Just with restoring my pride," she replies with piercing sarcasm.

She gets up and takes her books. "I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Celeste. Sorry about that. I thought it would be fun to wear heels just once. Everyone walks around here in jeans and all."

"It's ok," you reply. "I'm Chris. Christopher Darren."

"And you you prefer Chris or Christopher?"

"Chris. Christopher has too many syllables."

"Yeah. I'm still getting used to this whole college thing. I got a 'C' on a paper. My parents will be so upset. Which way are you going?"

"Um. The cafeteria."

"Me too! Do you mind if I eat with you? I feel like such a goober eating alone."

You walk with her to the cafeteria and eat together. It feels like high school. She is a freshman English major, and jokes about all her insecurities. It's really cute. It's so cute that you miss French class laughing with her.

"You know," says Celeste as she picks up her tray to leave. "We're having a big party tonight at Mainview. You'll come won't you? Please?"

The word "sure" falls out of your mouth.
