Dropped

The patrol gets closer and you grip your gun tighter. You raise your gun.
Nows your chance. The Germans are in the open, a couple yards away. You're concealed in the dark, and behind some growth.
You aim at a German, and pull the trigger. In the relative silence of the night, the sound is almost deafening.
The German falls to the ground. While the other German is readying his gun, you aim and pull the trigger.
The gun clicks.
You pull the trigger again.
The gun clicks.
The German realizes your gun jammed, and runs up to you, pressing the barrel of his gun into your forehead. He yells in German.
Whatever the hell said, you know what he meant. You drop your gun, and put your arms in the air.
You are now a POW.
But at least you don't have to worry about the war. And you'll probably be out in a month or two.
After all, with all these technology advancements, how long could a war take?
