Hall of Infinite Doors
You know that you will be of little help fighting against the Anak... unless...
Yes. There is only one thing you can do. Remembering the dream, you break into a run and leap up the steps to the top of the wall.
Most of the soldiers are converging towards the gateway now, racing as fast as they can, and you have to be quick to dodge them.
You reach the top and look out onto the forest. You stretch out your arm, and feeling rather silly, you shout, "COME!" You are not certain of what else to say. You wait for something to happen. An arrow flies past your ear.
"DAMNIT!" you lower your head, then in anger, stretch up to your full height and call out to the forest.
"GET THE HELL OVER HERE!" you scream in desperation. You can hear the sounds of wails and shouts and of men being killed. "WE NEED YOU HERE! I NEED YOU HERE!" You pause. "HELP US!" you wail. You duck to the ground as another crossbow bolt whizzes by much too close for comfort.
It's no use. It was just a dream. And your only hope.
"SET FIRE TO THIS WASTE!" you hear a giant roar. Giants run into the city, throwing torches and shooting fire tipped arrows onto the buildings.
A group of soldiers, led by a man on a horse, rush towards the giants to try to keep them from destroying the city and killing the ones they love. You decide to join them.
You jump off the wall onto a rooftop and then jump to the ground. You feel mad. You feel as if you're going nuts. You have no fear, only desperation, and adrenaline pumps through your veins like blood. Clutching your spear, you run into the battle.
Your body moves without mind. You're not sure how many giants you killed. Maybe none. But you stabbed, and kicked, and sliced. In the end, the giants with the torches lay dead, and you, amoung with a few of the other solders, stand very much alive.
"REGROUP!" the commander, though his horse lay dead, calls the soldiers towards him. "CHARGE!" the soldiers follow him as he runs towards the Anaks that have continued pouring into the gate.
You are about to follow when you hear a scream. From a burning building near to you ensues a wail. You rush straight into the fire without heed of the danger. For some reason, perhaps because you should have died many times before, your life seems worthless and unimportant. Only the people in the house matter to you.
Fire burns all about you and smoke chokes your senses. Over in the corner, huddled together, you see an old woman holding a child. Amea stands with her. When she sees you she screams, "HELP US!"
You're not sure how. Fire surrounds them, and you cannot see any way of getting to them without getting severly burnt. A window is near to them, but a burning pillar hangs dangerously above it.
