Hall of Infinite Doors
You continue your construction business and receive a couple other jobs. Your father taught you well. A couple days later you receive a call on your cell phone. It's Stacey. She tells you that you won the bid and asks you to come over right away.
You grab some tools and drive your truck over to the Sigma Chi residence and meet with Stacey in her office downstairs. This time she is better dressed. She gives you clear instructions only to work during afternoon hours, and gives you a protocol to follow when working where any ladies of the house may be. She makes it clear that there is to be no fraternizing with the ladies. Five thousand will be paid now. Ten thousand on completion.
You ask her for a plan of where the wires and cameras are, but she tells you there is none. Instead she gives you a blueprint-sized floorplan of the house. You'll have to trace them out yourself. She then gives you three passcodes to different parts of the house and a set of keys to everything but the downstairs office. You may access the office only while she is there. You then sign a contract memorializing your agreement. She then gives you the check for five grand.
You then go downstairs to the security room and open it with a key, carefully closing the door behind you. You turn on the machine, using another key, and several monitors fire up. Several cover the outside grounds. Others are for the pool, spa and massage areas. Still others cover the actual dorm rooms. You can use the controls to change from one room to the next, or put multiple rooms on one monitor.
You see a switch for intercon, and push it. You see a red light go on the desk in the Stacey's office. She is a ways from the desk standing next to the VP of the house, Tricia Taylor. You're about to turn it off when you here them talking about you.
"So," Tricia says, "fifteen thousand. That's pretty cheap."
"Better yet," says Stacey, "we will only have to pay five."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, when the job is done, we'll protest about something. He's a small contractor. He can't afford to litigate. Forget it. No way. Instead, you and me get an extra bonus in our presidential fund."
You turn off the intercon and become very angry.
