The Great Conflict

As you approach the town you see a large wooden and stone structure in the center of it. This structure is much larger than all the huts and farming mills in the area immediately indicating that it must be a temple. The Faithful always construct their temples in the center of a community and it is always the largest structure. You may approach by one of to ways. The temple lies to the east, and you may approach it by heading directly east through a heavily populated area of the village or you can attempt to sneak around south and enter the temple undetected. Which method of approach shall you use?
