"May I, now?" he said, sounding amused. I bit my lip, hoping I wasn't being a fool, but my the goddess, my husband was ancient and ugly and Matthew was temptation embodied. "And what will you call me?"

"I don't know," I whispered, watching him, my eyes wide. I waited, unable to think of anything else to say.

He took a step closer, leaving a bare foot between us. I could smell his breath, and it was sweet, cinnamon and sugar. "Call me lover?" he asked, and his smiled deepened, his brows both arching, as he waited for my response.
