You tell him that you have a new puppy in your car, and that he should come and pet it. The puppy really likes children, you say. The 10 year old boy looks disgusted. He dislikes the idea of seeing a puppy. You think to yourself how that should have worked. But it did not work. In fact, he seems wary about you now.
