Hall of Infinite Doors

"Daddy?" you ask, using the kid's voice. "Can I become a ghost?"

The father laughs. "Why would you want to do that, son?"

"But what if I did!" you wail. "What if I became a ghost and then you had to kill me!?"

"Now, son," he says, getting off the couch to hold you in his arms. "You've got nothing to worry about. The only way to become a ghost without dying first is to be cursed by an invisible door!"

"Then what?" The kid, apparently used to being possessed, makes no struggle.

"Well, you'd just have to wait. Eventually, you'd become solid again. And when you do, you'll be back in the hallway."

"O-tay!" you say, in your best impersonation of a toddler. The man gets back to his paper, and you glide out of the kid's body.
