Interdimensional Traveler
You press 3-1-2 on your remote, and find yourself in a new dimension.
You look around, and realize that at least everybody doesn't look like that jerk from your home dimension who torched his own pizza shop to collect the insurance money, and blamed a former employee for it. In fact, there is absolutely nobody in the streets of the city you are in at all!
You wonder if humanity has been wiped out here...
If that is the case, it certainly wouldn't be dangerous to walk the streets a few minutes and find out...or would it?
