Summer Vacation
It is still early in the morning, but the paper has arrived. You like the idea of having a job all picked out before your parents wake up for the morning.
You pad outside in your slippers and pick up the morning paper. Thumbing to the classifieds, you find a couple of jobs that sound interesting and pay slightly above minimum wage.
There is a lifeguard job at the local pool. This one pays $8 an hour, and since you are a pretty good swimmer it sounds doable. But, the hours are long and the only perks are being able to use the pool during your offtimes.
The other job is at the mall. You would be working at the Cellphone Hut. The pay is $7.50 per hour. You get a nice discount on a cellphone and commission (meaning the more phones you sell the more money you get.) Still, the idea of being couped up in the hut all day while your friends are outside having fun, doesn't exactly put a warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach.
