You run up to the merchant to kill him, but he runs away. You chase, tackle and kill him in the hallway in a desperate attempt to prevent any witnesses. When you look up from your deed you find yourself surrounded by the merchant's mercenaries, more than you thought he had actually. They're super pissed you killed their employer before they got paid.

They take their anger out on your hide in a quick and brutal way. Then they take everything in the house not nailed down as payment.
