dead man shuffle

You have one of those new wind-up radios with you; you stopped winding it up several days ago, when your local stations stopped broadcasting. You've been sitting in shock for a while, now.

While the fog of shock and grief is clear from your mind, you begin winding. After several minutes, you turn the unit on. Turning through the fm dial is unrewarding, nothing but white noise. You flip the switch to am, and begin tuning, with little hope. In a minute, you can just make out a signal:
"Denver. All national contact points are off-air. All local stations within range of this tower are off-air. As far as we can determine, society as we knew it has fallen apart. This message will continue broadcasting until power is lost. Good luck, and may God be with you. This is KOA 850 AM, out of Denver..." the message begins to loop. You turn the radio off.
