You quickly duck behind her couch. No one sees you, not even Lauren. "Well... he was here a minute ago." she says with disappointment as she shuts the door. "You are so lucky that he bolted. He was hideous! He was so nervous to! He looked a little bit..." she paused and then with a grin she said "Green." "Well Laura, that happens. Especially with geeky guys like him." she says. "If hes a geek, why are you going to go out with him?" Lauren asks. "Because he is the hottest thing right now. I can't wait until his little stunt dies down and I can go back to Jerr-Bear." she says. Jerr-Bear is her affectionate nickname for the captain of the football team, Jerry Marcus. It was pretty well known that she sometimes dated other guys to make Jerry jealous. But you thought she was different. Oh... the bitter pain of your first heartbreak.
