Under The Moon
You ask, "Sure! What time?"
Aubrey answers, sounding a little happy; "Seven o'clock, tonight. Is that okay?"
"Yes, it's fine," you answer, glad to do more than just shop for your little sister, Loren. "Are you going to pick me up?"
"Absolutely," he croons, "what sort of guy would I be if I didn't?" You both laugh, and then you tell him your address. "Okay, I'll be there around six-thirty."
"Okay, see you then!"
* * *
It's sixt-thirty, and your doorbell rings. Your mom answers it, and comes into your room a minute later. "Some guy is at the door, looking for you," she reports. "Says his name is Aubrey..." You beam, and she adds; "He's quite cute. Where did you meet him?"
You answer, "At the book store yesterday. We literally ran into each other." You smile, and walk past her to meet him. You get to the door, and Aubrey is wearing dark jeans, a red T-shirt over a white one, and a black hat. He smiles at you.
"Thanks for coming. I needed someone to accompany me to this place;" he says, "heard it was scary."
You laugh, and he leads you to his car; a black Mustang GT. He opens the door for you, and you get in.
The drive lasts thirty minutes or so, and you find yourself in a secluded area, in a forest. The moon -- now Full -- hangs in the sky, surrounded by an army of bright stars. The trees whisper in a serene tone, blown by the slight breeze. It sweeps through your long blonde hair, and you huddle under your jacket, the cold starting to get to you.
"Is it too cold?" Aubrey asks, sounding concerned.
You shake your head. "No, It's fine. Just a little chilly. Can we go inside, though? It might be warmer."
"Okay, let's go."
He leads you up to the front door, and you think you hear a creaking noise coming from within the old Victorian house. Aubrey looks at you, his eyes revealing he heard it too. He smiles a mischevious smile. He extends his hand towards the doornob, and starts to open it. Instead, it opens inward on it's own before he touches the knob. You gasp, slightly startled.
"Do you still wanna go inside?" he asks mischeviously.
