Under The Moon
You say, "Sorry, I have something to do.." You hear Aubrey sigh, and he pauses. He apologizes for bothering you, and hangs up.
You, indeed, had somehting to do. Since it was the middle of October, your mom wants you to help her set up for Halloween. Your nine-year-old sister, Loren, is eagerly awaiting the day when she can use her costume, and your mom wants to, in your opinion, "over-decorate" the house. You shake your head and regret having to help shop for the house; Aubrey seemed a really nice guy, and he kind of just asked you out. Shaking your head, you get up from your bed and head to the kitchen, where your mom is.
"Hey, Syd, what's going on," she asks, sounding worried, "you look sad?"
"Oh, nothing," you answer, not wanting to tell her what happened. "I just am a little tired from last night."
"Oh, okay, well, are you ready to go?"
What do you say?
