Extend the Story - Add a Room

You decide to pick a topic at random, not even looking at the cards. Your topic is "Academia and higher learning institutions in America should be defunded", and this really perturbs you because it is certainly not clear that this would be a topic of debate. You start running arguments in your head. Should we really abolish the current status quo when the current education is underfunded as it is? But you also wonder if giving schools more money leads to better outcomes. You know that teachers tend to be underpaid and some are overqualified. This is not the topic that you were prepared to argue for, but you will diligently study and do your research until you feel confident in your ability to win.
