You couldn’t just sit by and let the scarred boy bully Sarah like that! You grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and stared him in the eyes. “I don’t have patience for bullies like you. If I ever see you do anything like that again, you’ll be in deep trouble!” The boy looked at you with a grin “I don’t fear people like you, you’re beneath me. Nerds like Sarah, Mudbloods like Sophia, losers like Erik… and whatever you are” The boy spit in your face and shoved you so that you lost your grip on his collar. You were about to punch him in the neck when Sarah stopped you. “Don’t. You’ll get expelled even before you get into Hogwarts. Thank you though, that jerk is classic Slytherin. All the wizards who have gone bad are from Slytherin” “That guy is just the worst” you said while wiping his spit from your face.
When you got off the train you saw a large castle in the distance. It was late, so it was dark out. A large man was pointing all the students who got off the train in the right direction. You all walked down to a river that was between the train station and the castle. The large man told you all to get in boats that would take you across the river and into the castle called Hogwarts. The boats had five people each in them, and there was a light in the front of the boat. The strangest thing is that no one was rowing, and there was no engine. The boat was driving by itself.
When you had crossed the river, you and all the students were guided into the castle. You were led up a staircase where you were met by an older woman wearing a robe and a pointy wizard hat. “I am Professor McGonagall” the woman said, “When I open this door you will see the great hall, here you will be sorted into your houses. Walk in rows of two until you reach the end of the hall where you will wait until your name is called”.
When the large doors opened you saw long rows of tables filled with delicious food. The tables were filled with students of different ages, watching you and the others as you walked in. The ceiling seemed like the night sky, with candles floating in the air. The group stopped moving. You saw that the teachers had their own tables in the end of the great hall, and from where they were sitting, they could see the rest of the hall. In front of the teacher table was a stool and behind it stood Professor McGonagall holding a hat.
“Erik Brown!” she said loudly. Erik walked up quickly, and the professor put the hat on his head. Then the hat spoke! “Hufflepuff!”. As soon as Erik had walked back down the professor called a new name “Sophia Evans!” and the blonde girl ran up to the stool and sat down. “Gryffindor!” yelled the hat. “Sarah Taylor!” was called and she too walked up quickly. “Ravenclaw!” The fourth name was Jacob Jones and the scarred boy walked up “Slytherin!” was yelled, and the boy looked very proud.
Your name was called, and you also walked up towards McGonagall and the sorting hat. As you sat down and the professor put the hat on your head it didn’t yell any house. It started making noises as if it was thinking. “Now you’re a different one” it said slowly. “At first, I would think you’re a muggle, but I sense powerful magic around you… You’re not always the best at studying I see, helpful, sometimes brave…
What house did you want to join?
