Everything Went Dark
Jennan was going to step onto the podium when a guard stopped her. "Viva la New Rome." They whispered. That's right! One of the guards was a New Roman. But what exactly were they going to do? It's not like a bunch of New Romans were in the crowd. And Jennan was right. There was only one New Roman supporter there. And that was the guard. They hopped up onto the podium and set something down on the floor. The crowd inched closer to see what the guard was doing. Addie noticed that the other guards were distracted by the guard on the podium and started running. Jordan followed. And after a few more seconds, Jennan also followed.
It's a good thing they ran too. That guard was a suicide bomber. A huge explosion went off, knocking the three to the floor. A small child's head landed near Jordan, it looked like one of the children who had gotten Jack's head. Jordan hopped up, kicking the head aside and helped Jennan up. Jennan was too close to the explosion and she was bleeding. The adrenaline made her numb and she was unsure of how severe the pain was yet. Addie yelled something, but it was difficult for them to hear anything. The explosion had damaged their hearing. A bullet whizzed past Jordan. That must've been what Addie was shouting about. The three starting running again. This time, Addie was hit in the shoulder. She seemingly ignored it and kept on running.
