The Unnaturals Prequel - Cataclysm

Once more, bodies begin pressing into you as everyone scrambles madly down the dark tunnels. It is completely black down here and you are forced to lean blindly on those around you. You stumble and trip as your feet scrape over the gravel and protruding metal of the tracks but you refuse to go down.

Someone directly in front of you does though and you feel them disappear from beneath your hands. All you can do is raise your feet and stomp them down in order not to trip, even though you know that it will spell almost certain death for them. Fortunately, you won't have to watch it. The bodies continue forward.

You have no idea how much time has passed. All you do know is that the howling of the storm is more of an echo now, from above and behind you. Most people have stopped screaming, reduced to quiet sobs as the initial panic begins to subside. The running has slowed to a walk.

You glance behind you, hoping to see some indication of life... or death, at this point you're not really sure. But there is nothing, only endless black surrounds you. The group keeps walking through the coolness of the underground track. You wonder if the other two groups have already been killed by the storm. You may never know.

Eventually, the shuffling group approaches another entrance to the tunnel. You can only tell because the temperature has begun to rise again and fear grips your heart. Through the haze of your thoughts, you remember that your phone is still in your pocket. It is surprising that noone else has thought of this yet. You pull it out and activate the flashlight. Others begin to follow suit.

Up ahead, you can see where the entrance to the tunnel should have been. Lights from many different sources and angles illuminate the dire fact that you all are confronted with. The liquid stone, asphalt and concrete has begun to cool in waves and blobs. You can see intricate lines of molten rock that has resolidified as it descended the stairs. Although, you can't see the stairs anymore, or any sunlight. The opening has been completely sealed.

A sinking feeling washes over the group as you realize that you're trapped. Since making the decision to go underground, you realize that your choices were stripped from you, just as your freedom has been. Once more, there is only one option.

You have 1 choice:
