Unbalanced
Quickly using a bit of rubble and thread as a temporary tinkering kit, you manage to pry open another door just as the footsteps begin to round the corner. You swiftly duck inside, taking care to quietly close the door behind you. Your attempt at stealth is ironic at best, as the building rumbles with the low roar of distant thunder.
Safe for now, you take stock of your new settings. This room, unlike yours, does not feature a bed. Instead, nearly half of the space is occupied by an ornate stone fountain, seemingly left dry for decades. Investigating closer, you can see faint etchings all along the fountain. Most of them seem to center around a group of humans bringing tribute to a giant mantid creature. However, one section shows the mantid, now in armor, bearing a human woman into battle against a mass of black shadows. Though you are unable to be certain, it seems like this fountain is ancient compared to the walls around it, but has clearly been carefully preserved in storage.
After spending a few moments investigating the fountain, you decide it's probably safe to exit the room. Wisely, you decide to avoid the direction that the heavy footsteps went in.
