Errant

With little use as of yet, there shouldn't be too much to do with regards to the weapons. Most of the crew keeps daggers or other small weapons and tool and the majority of the hired guards prefer to keep theirs either with them at all times or stored in their personal bunks. That being said there are a few crossbows and swords on hand in case of emergency. Most of which are kept under the watchful eye of the quartermaster.

Yesterday's team was in charge of maintaining the instruments while your task will be to double check the inventory. You focus on counting the crossbows and their bolts. Its a more grueling task than anticipated however, as every bow must be taken and replaced into its storage area. There are a lot more than you would have guessed before you started.

After you count the last one you check the quartermaster's log and notice an inconsistency in the numbers. Somehow there are even fewer counted than what's expected.

You may have miscounted as your coworkers often distracted you with conversation and crude jokes, but you have no way to be certain. Unless of course you recount every single bow from the start. Which sounds like a massive pain. But...you could always fudge the numbers on the list. Mark them down as all accounted for as some of the others did. One man moved to the back of the ship for a nap and just signed whatever number when he woke up again. It's not like anyone's going to check again soon. And by then it would be their problem. And there are still a lot of crossbows accounted for.
