*None of these choices are paragon or renegade.

*Spacer: "Both of your parents were in the Alliance military. Your childhood was spent on ships and stations as they transferred from posting to posting, never staying in one location for more than a few years. Following in your parents' footsteps, you enlisted at the age of eighteen."
Personality Traits:
-Moderate alien tolerance
-High Military Discipline
-Moderate disdain for human supremacists
-Low emotional warmth
(Moving around without a true home made Shepard learn to not be very attached to others. Having contact with aliens more often than most humans makes Shepard relatively tolerant of aliens and intolerant towards human supremacists. The family legacy gives Shepard great military discipline.)

*Earthborn: "You were an orphan raised on the streets of the great megatropolises covering Earth. You escaped the life of petty crime and underworld gangs by enlisting with the Alliance military when you turned eighteen."
Personality Traits:
-Moderate alien prejudice
-Low military discipline
-Neutral towards human supremacists
-Moderate emotional warmth
(Growing up on the streets taught Shepard little respect for authority. Like most humans, Shepards resents and fears aliens but does not hate them for believe humans are superior. Life in a gang gave Shepard the ability to make friends, but enlisting in the military shows a recognition between good and bad)

*Colonist: "You were born and raised on Mindoir, a small border colony in the Attican Traverse. When you were sixteen, Batarian slavers raided Mindoir, slaughtering your family and friends. You were saved by a passing Alliance patrol, and you enlisted with the military a few years later."
Personality traits:
-High alien prejudice
-Moderate military discipline
-Moderate human supremacist
-High emotional warmth
(Human colonists often have prejudice against alien races due to pushback from galactic politics against human colonization efforts. This racism towards aliens is only exaggerated in Shepard due to the fact that, as far as Shepard knew, Batarians wiped out the entire colony which Shepard grew up on. This fuels some degree of human supremacy in Shepard. A happy life on the colony prior to it being wiped out gives Shepard great charisma and the ability to make connections.)
