The History Paper

You are correct. If the safe passage is behind door 4, the inscriptions on door 1, 3, and 4 are false and the inscription on door 2 is true. This fits with the guideline.

“I would choose door 4,” you said confidently.

She smiled and leaned back against her desk. “That would be a wise choice. Maybe there is some hope for humanity after all.”

“So, you’re right?’ Chase asked. You nodded and a grin spread across his face. He turned to Luna. “You’ll help us then?”

“I don’t want to,” she admitted, “it could’ve just been luck.” She looked at her nails. “But I did make a deal, so I suppose so.”

Relieved, Chase ran his hand through his hair, a stupid smile plastered to his face. “What do we need to do?”

“Well, I cannot let you out. You will need to meet with Hades and propose your case, but it's unlikely he will listen to just you and me.” She paused to think. “There’s a party at the castle. We’ll talk to Persephone – she’s more reasonable – and see what she suggests. I will be there to advocate on your behalf, but after we get an answer, I will be leaving you on your own.”

“Thank you,” you could hear the relief in your voice.

“Don’t thank me yet, I don’t even know if your request is possible.” She started walking towards a door behind the desk. “Follow me, we have to get you ready for tonight. We must hurry or you'll start fading soon.”
