Soul Thief

Ardora had tears in her eyes, stared at Despond before she vanished.

"She can't treat me like this," Despond told Irene before he left as well.

Athena had been looking between Ardora and Despond, basking in their delicious feuding. She turned and looked at Oberon and Irene.

Irene was frustrated. Her hands were fists and her hair fell on her shoulders.

Those two, mused Oberon.

"You go and find Ardora. I'll speak to Despond," Irene told Oberon.

"The humans," said Athena.

I have more important matters to attend to than consoling Ardora, Oberon told Irene.

But he only said such a thing because he was terrible at consoling Ardora.

"We need to solve this issue. That is our duty, Oberon," Irene scolded.

She stood tall, kissed him and said, "Ardora admires you and she will listen. Go on and speak to her."

Oberon took Irene's hand and pressed a kiss into her skin.

And Despond loves you, perhaps even more than I do.

Irene smiled.

And Athena felt awkward sitting there before these two.

Oberon turned to her and said, You busy yourself, Athena. If you cause any trouble you will be hearing from me.

And if you dare tell Edol about any of this, I assure you the consequences will be severe.

"Yes, Oberon," Athena said, but the thought of punishment was almost exciting to the troublemaking Goddess.

Irene slipped away through the ground and Oberon lifted his scythe.

"I simply must find the culprit of this thievery," mused Athena.

Causing such celestial chaos was Athena's purpose. This was fascinating, but upsetting.
