Soul Thief

The Goddess Athena inquired as to why these men were fighting.

The man who grasped the collar of the other shouted, "Non-a yer business, woman!"

The other had a nose that had since been smashed inward. Blood dripped from his face and his eyes were swollen.

Humans are cruel and merciless, Athena thought.

She watched the man die before them. The other must have sobered up, gasped and dashed away.

Athena searched for a soul in this dead man.

He had none.

As he pulled out of his body, he stared at Athena.

"You allowed this to happen," said the man to Athena.

"I'm sorry," said Athena.

The man wandered in the direction of the other.

It was true. Humans were dying without souls.

"This must be the work of Oberon," Athena mused.

Athena was mischievous in this way. She knew very well Oberon would never commit such a sinful act.

She would tell Edol immediately.

The Goddess Athena did no right or wrong. It was the Gods Ardora and Despond who did right and wrong.

Athena was merely playful, especially when this Earth had potential crimes to commit.

She returned to the stars, searched for Edol.
