Errant

You don't like the idea of getting lost in a dark tangle of deep woods, so why wouldn't you follow a brighter path? It'll be much easier to find your way through if you can actually see the ground in front of you.

As you make your way up the roots along the forest floor grow thicker, and entwine together to make almost a solid path. You start to hear rustling and see birds and other small animals flitting to and fro. For a few moments, you forget that this is anything other than a normal forest.

The treetops overhead only cover the sky with a thin layer of orange and yellow vegetation as if this part of the woods is trapped in perpetual autumn. Even so the air is still the gentle warmth of spring throughout.

A gust of wind from behind pushes up fallen leaves and something unusual catches your eye. You stoop down to find a trap door made of wooden planks nestled to one side of the road. Now where could that lead?
