John pointed out that you go to all of Chris’ debate sessions and that you had even agreed to be Chris’ date to the Fraternity dance... that even Trisha has mentioned she thought you liked Chris... and not him (John).

John then says that he knows for a fact that Chris was interested in you.

You reply by saying, “Wait, we are supposed to be a secret so I didn’t want to clue Trisha about us... doesn’t mean I didn’t value us. I even checked in with you about Chris... you didn’t seem to mind.”
