You stayed quiet as it sounded like a juicy subject to easesdrop, when you recognized one voice to be Scarlet’s voice.

Scarlet proceeded to say that the guy she was interested in owned fancy equipment in his room... like brand name headphones, laptop, big television, and a fancy speaker set.
She then said that the guy was even able to afford the roommate portion of his dorm room so that he didn’t need to share the room.
You paused and wondered if she was talking about John. There was no one else on the floor or dorm that you knew of that practically seemed to have his own room... except John.
Scarlet said that she’s been acting interested in the TV shows that he’s been watching so that she could cozy up to him in his room... and that one time when he had to go to the bathroom and left her alone in his bedroom, she was able to go through some of his mail.
The other girl scolded Scarlet for doing that, with Scarlet stating that if he left it out, it was fair game to her. She just had to know if he was the real deal with money or not... and that she had confirmed that he had money. She said what really peaked her interest in this individual was when she was able to ask about what his parents did. Apparently they owned a small business that seemed quite profitable.
