Strangely Forgotten

You decide to go home with your parents. They were genuine and kind. Well, your mom was. Your father wasn't rude, but didn't talk much. Still, you trusted them. They seemed safe. You walk with them outside, where everything looks abandoned. They lead you through streets of dead cars and leftover panic. The uneasy feeling that's been with you grows even more. The wind blows around you, singing a song for the dead and abandoned things. The feeling of dread clings to the humid drops of air around you. Finally, you reach a house. It looks as abandoned as the rest of the houses, but your parents seem familiar with it, so you don't question it too much. They open the door, giving you room to enter first. They're smiling. Smiling.
