(NOT A STORY)Chars31 Info
It is. But there is something we can do. We can utilize the tools we have now, and the resources to band together. To reminisce instead of recant. To use the same devices that were previously only used to scatter said stones, to now gather them. You can't revisit those stories, or those events that happened at Chars31, but everyone involved(or at least most people) that were there? Just because they are not THERE anymore, doesn't mean they are not HERE. When you lost touch or had a falling out with these individuals who you spent a decent fraction of your life with, on a regular basis stopped showing up, they weren't on another planet, even though it felt as if they might as well be. They are still here, among us. They have stories, they have goals, they experienced time the exact same way as you, and odds are, they would be glad to share that story and be interested in yours too.
Hell, as an example, one life changing experience I had was in the music scene. System Of A Down is a favourite band of mine, and in the days I frequented Chars, they had JUST put out their FIRST album. And in the same time frame we all inhabited, they put out 4 more albums, over 60 more songs, went on hiatus, broke up, got back together and are now touring again. That's a major thing that happened, not only in my life, but the world, that I'm sure others can relate to.
The goal of this is unity and comradery, amongst common ground. The world needs more of this, and this is the perfect outlet to serve as a beacon to reach out. Like reconnecting with old war buddies, or people you haven't seen since grade school. It's exhilarating! As I read posts on forums such as "HistoryofRP"(Which also has some amazing recounting of Chars31 days from different individuals perspectives, I suggest you check it out!), I noticed that no one was at each others throats. Even people who remember fighting on a daily basis and bullying one another, they shared in the nostalgic thought and bonded over the simple facts of "I was there!" and "I remember that!" and they communicate with each other as if they were best friends for years. It's total support and you never know what became of these people. For all you know that flooding troll who's claim to fame was "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" in the chat 4 hours a day, every day(thank God for the block/ignore feature!), that person may have gone on to become a doctor, or a firefighter, or who knows what!?
That is the purpose of this. To raise more awareness, and to let people of that era know that "Hey, I was there too. Here we are now."
And here's how I'm gonna do it....
