In Love With an Aven

“Human.” He tries the word out on his tongue.
“Humans are beautiful.” He smiles and you blush at the complement.
“Aven are pretty good looking too.” You respond.
“Truly?” He asks giddily.
“Of course!” You laugh, “Have you looked at yourself?”
“I am ugly in my land.” He tells you. You frown.
“Compared to who?”
Just then a second set of footsteps approached. “Brother?” A deep male voice called from the other side of the rock. “Where are you, you ugly cricket-eater?”
“Here brother.” He calls meakly.
A second Aven appears around the rock and you stand stunned. He has sandy blond hair that sweeps tantalizingly over his eyebrows and perfectly tanned skin. He muscles ripple as he walks and his wings are a gleaming white with streaks of gold. He stands a foot taller than his brother and his chiseled jaw and gorgeous chocolate eyes make his brother seem like a carnival worker.
“You keep disappearing you weak feathers.”
“You shoved me down the hill and told me to find my own way.” He growls in reply.
“Are you talking back to me.” His snarls menacingly, but then pauses as he notices me.
“Why is this wingless beauty talking to you when she could have me?” He asks, showing a row of perfect white teeth. In spite of yourself you are extremely attracted to this smooth talking Aven.
“Because she’s smart?” He responds sarcastically under his breath. His brother punches him in the stomach and he doubles over and pukes in the grass.
“Weak.” He scoffs looking down on his brother.
“I like a girl who’s smart and gorgeous. He smiles at you and you don’t want him to ever stop looking at you. Suddenly the puny brother lying on the ground seems a lot less attractive.
“Come with me and I’ll make you a queen princess.” He grins at you, offering a hand.
