Decisions

You walk to the right for some time. The ground turns from mud to a hard surface that creaks as you go. Soon enough something harder is on the floor. There are rungs on the floor and two lines to the sides of the rungs. On the lines are screws, it's a track. You walk forward avoiding the track and hit your head against beams on the ceiling and wall. A mineshaft, can't be. Should you walk on the tracks or to the sides?
