"You don't think we're just going on a holiday walking through Cantonica for no good reason?" Rose scoffed, pulling a ladder up to the edge of the window of the transporter, waving me over for me to hold the ladder as she climbs it. I kind of, half-ran towards the ladder? You know that run someone does when you are holding the transporting lift for them and they need to time their walk so the automatic door doesn't close but the distance between them and you isn't that far away? Exactly. I stood next to the metal ladder and held it tightly, looking up as Rose made her attempt to climb the ladder in her transparent heels.

She looked through the window and inside of the control room, putting her hand to shield her eyes from the light in the ship bay coming from the ceiling, squinting her eyes. "There's been sightings of Rebellion ships wafting in and out of the place, and we need to make sure that it's either a rumour, or to uncover the scum and take them in for questioning." Underneath me, I could see Navaien push himself off the floor and stare at me through his thick eyelashes, grabbing the ladder as well. I looked at him as if he was mad, but he only shushed me, shaking the ladder gently. Rose yelped, missing a step on the way and almost falling if it weren't for her iron grip on the ladder.

"I'm going to die, you nerfherder, stay pfaasking still!" She yells, red eyes peering at Navaien who only nodded and whispered a gentle 'apologies'. I bit the insides of my cheeks. When she came down, Navaien moved away, pushing his hands in the pockets of his technician uniform. Rose grabbed at his shirt, pulling up to see the name tag - before she stared at me. I shrugged.

"What?" I asked when she didn't say anything, making her pull up his hat to reveal his face. He smiled and showed her his small teeth, looking quite innocent for a man who should be dead.

"This is the idiot you're taking with us to Bight?" She asks, moving his head left and right to look at his face from all angles. I prayed that she wouldn't recognize him. "Aren't you a Luitentant, Imnis?"

Navaien nodded, looking down when she let go of his face. "I am, but I've had several courses on transport ships and cruisers. I'm a bit of a technician, I'm skilled in it."

I stared at Rose who only cynically sneered, while Navaien stared at me from over her shoulder. I felt more anxious than he did. Then, Rose remembered our deal from before and knew she had no say in who I bring with me, so she crossed her arms and turned her back to him. "I'll go settle the last of the preparations, you can board the ship by then."
