Time traveling through nuclear history

You notice a small tree nearby, and, using the retracting ax found in your emergency kit, begin chopping it down. After getting the firewood, you return to the time machine and make a small area. You remember that there's an operating manual located inside the time machine, and you use that as your tinder. You run over to a nearby house, stealing a torch to use as a lighter. However, as you are making your sneaky getaway, someone comes out into the back yard to witness you trespassing! They start yelling at you in Greek, which your mini-Scout watch is translating.
