You░go░into░the░bathroom░and░close░the░door. Sometimes, this kind of solitude feels nice and it is exactly what you need right now. Nothing and no one can bother you for now. There will be no email flashing on the phone screen that plunges you into a train of thought about everything you are supposed to be getting done for your classes or a meeting you, blissfully, momentarily forgot. Your boss cannot call you into work with no warning right now. All of the papers and novels and scientific journals you have been putting off don't matter for now. What? Are you going to write them in the shower? Your stresses dissipate and roll away under the crack at the bottom of the door.
You lean over the tub and turn the squeaky knob to let the hot water burst from the showerhead. You don't turn the fan on. Tonight you want the steam to become a film obscuring the mirror and thickening the air, massaging your shoulders with soft and misty fingers.
When you finish your shower, you feel clean and new. You put on some fresh, comfortable clothes and your favorite pair of warm socks. Now maybe you can get something done. You still don't feel very enthused about this thought, but you have rewarded yourself for getting through to this part of the day and feel a little more ready for the rest of the night. Now it is about time to at least try summiting the daunting mountain of -- mostly pointless -- work. You toss the thought of it around in your brain and the usual queries and subsequent answers come up: ??? ?? ? ???? ????? ????? ?'? ??? ???????? ???????? ???? ??????? ? ???????? ? ???? ?????????? ??% ?? ??? ????. ? ???? ??? ?????? ?? ????????? ? ???? ??????? ?????? ?? ???????? ?????? ???? ? ?????? ?????? ?? ??? ???? ??? ???? ????? ????????.
?? ?? ????? ??? ?????????? ? ?? ???? ? ??????? ??? ?????? ???? ?????????? ?? ?? ????. ???? ???'? ???? ??? ???? ?????? ? ?? ?????? ???????.
?? ??? ?? ? ???? ????? ??? ?? ? ???'? ???? ?? ???? ?? ?????????? ????? ??? ???? ? ????????? ???????.
These thoughts are normal and you combat them every single day, especially when you feel stressed. They pop up without your permission and bounce around the walls of your brain like the DVD logo, rebounding off of one side and flying over to the other. They rattle you and often squash any and all motivation you were able to muster up but tonight you have no choice but to ignore them. The mountain of schoolwork waiting for you cannot be ignored or left unfinished. It isn't like the month you forwent reading any of the novels for your literature class so that you could keep up with the writing for your other class. It was dumb luck that you didn't need to write a paper on any of the novels. If you had ... well, eventually it would have come to picking between your grades and your health. Tonight you have done everything you could to take care of yourself and now you will just have to try and hope the big brick wall in your brain falls down and lets you function.
