Midnight Snack
Now's my chance. With a smirk on my face, I silently wait until he's reached the top. When I see him pull a nail out of a pouch on his toolbelt, and almost think twice before my action. Whatever. Thinking is for losers, anyway.
With one motion I kick the metal ladder at the bottom. It practically folds up, sending him down. I cross my fingers, hoping his fall is fatal, but he lands in a haystack. My heart skips a beat as he sees what I did.
"Why you little-" He says under his breath as he struggles out of his position. I clear out of there. I bite my lip for not bringing some sort of weapon with me, like a pitchfork, or something. He is clearly armed with a hammer. I circle around the barn and grab a pitchfork from inside a wastebasket on the ground. When he reaches the doorway, he stares in horror at the sharp edges of the tool. I charge toward him with the weapon and try to hit him, but he trips me and leaps on top of me. He tries to snatch the pitchfork out of my hands, but I kick him off, and manage to stab the tool in his side. He falls to the floor and I run as far as possible from him.
A pickup truck is cruising down the road and I hop in the back. After a few hours, I am soaked and back in the city. Soon after, I make it back home. But, I am still hungry.
