D&D adventure

As your walking up the stairs you see light, when you get to the top you find yourself in a courtyard. In a very deep voice you here blehheeblahbloohleeblooblah. You look up and see a creature jumping down from a bridge connecting the two towers. As it lands you jump back in fear looking for what to do. The creature slowing gets a grin on it face as it walks closer to you. You look behind the monster and see a chest, what do you do.
