I opened the chocolate without setting it away and broke it in half. "Here." I said as quietly as possible, rolling up the golden wrapper in my hands. Rose was surprised, but she smiled a little wider, thanking me and taking the chocolate.
We have known each other for at least 7 years and she never really grew out of her sugar addiction, so whenever we saw each other we would store candy at my place - so next time she came over, we had what to snack on in secret. I believe dad once saw us, but he never brought it up. Besides, there's only so much you can hide from your family when you're 9.
