I try to recite the Hail Mary in French, but I don't know it. I try to convince the men I am an American and speak English, which is why I cannot say it correctly. One of the men speaks English and asks me to recite it in English. I don't know it in English either. I get as far as "Hail Mary, full of grace..." and stop. The men bind me and haul me away to be beaten and thrown in the Seine. I perish.
